Of course you can usually get a deal on trip related costs if you have the opportunity to plan it far enough ahead. But what do you do in the situation when you just do not have the luxury of time to assist in lowering your costs? We will look at three excellent suggestions on how to lower the cost of traveling last minute. These include using frequent flyer miles, using the Internet and looking at any credit card related air miles. Using Frequent Flyer Miles

Keep in mind that just being a member of a frequent flier program has benefits associated with it. Most air carriers reserve seats for their frequent flier members and you can take advantage of that. In a lot of cases you can get a discount and even mileage points by booking a last minute flight.

Using The Internet

You can usually find airline fares specifically reserved for people making airline purchases on-line. A lot of airlines will even post unused airline tickets. These are seats that remain unsold up to the date of departure. You can usually get a steep discount by purchasing these last minute unfilled seats.

Using Credit Card Miles

Take inventory of the credit cards you currently have and make note of the ones that offer some type of incentive where the rewards are given in airline miles. This is especially useful when you can gain airline points by making purchases you would normally make anyway except by using the right card you are gaining airline points.
